Indianapolis’ “most beloved” night of music and charity returns with Tonic Ball this fall.

In the last 24 years, Tonic Ball has become a pillar of Indianapolis’ creative community. The grassroots celebration brings musicians, fans and volunteers together to “fight hunger through the power of music,” according to a press release. Presented by Eskenazi Health, the 24th annual Tonic Ball returns to Fountain Square on Nov. 21.

“Tonic Ball is more than just a one-night-only music festival,” Joseph Ball, chair of the Tonic Ball Committee, said in a statement. “It’s a night where music builds community, which then supports the meaningful mission of Second Helpings in their fight against hunger.”

What started as a one-venue tribute show has grown into a multi-stage, multi-artist festival, drawing more than thousands of guests and raising vital funds to support Second Helpings — a local nonprofit dedicated to food rescue, hunger relief and culinary job training, according to a press release.

Second Helpings rescues more than 4 million pounds of food each year and turns it into nutritious meals for Hoosiers in need. The nonprofit also offers culinary job training to “empower adults facing barriers to employment,” according to a press release.

This year’s lineup features a variety of tribute artists and bands at several venues across Fountain Square.

  • Marvin Gaye at Square Cat Vinyl
  • Britney Spears at White Rabbit Cabaret
  • The B-52s at Radio Radio
  • Green Day at HI-FI
