Colts’ Pierre Garcon and Radio stations to lead fund raising efforts

Entercom Indianapolis radio stations recently announced fund raising plans to benefit victims of Tuesday’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.

“Hoosiers Helping Haitians” starts at 6:00am tomorrow as Z99.5’s Smiley Morning Show broadcasts live from the Kroger location at 1330 W Southport Rd. Fox News/Talk 1430 WXNT’s Abdul Hakim-Shabazz will take his show on location from Panera Bread at 5025 East 82nd St. Donations will be collected at both locations until 10 a.m.

My1079 will “play everything … for a price” from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. tomorrow. Listeners may call (317) 228-1079 and request a song in exchange for donating money to the Hoosiers Helping Haitians with Pierre Garcon campaign.

All money raised will directly benefit the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission on behalf of the Pierre Garcon Helping Hands Foundation. Garcon, the son of Haitian parents, has partnered with NWHCM to provide food and disaster relief for hundreds of people in Haiti – the Western Hemisphere’s poorest country.

Donations will be accepted through Tuesday, Jan. 19, at all Indianapolis area locations of Fifth Third Bank and online from the Entercom Indianapolis radio station websites: http://www.WXNT.com; http://www.my1079online.com; and http://www.WZPL.com.

Additional information about relief efforts, running totals of money raised, as well as the secure online donation form, may be found online or contact Toni Moore at (317) 218-2233.
