Dallas Clark leads AFC player honorees

More by this author

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark is the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his seven-year NFL career.

Clark, the first tight end to earn the honor since Denver’s Shannon Sharpe in 2003, equaled a franchise record with 14 receptions for 119 yards in the Colts’ 20-17 AFC South win over the Houston Texans.

The former Iowa product is the AFC’s second-leading receiver with 60 receptions for 703 yards with three touchdowns.

Other AFC honorees were Pittsburgh safety Tyrone Carter (defense) and New England place-kicker Stephen Gostkowski (special teams).

Carter, in his 10th season from Minnesota, had two interceptions, returning one 48 yards for a touchdown with two tackles in the Steelers’ 28-10 win at Denver on Monday Night Football.

Gostkowski’s four field goals helped New England in its 27-17 win over Miami.
