Scotty’s BrewhouseGood, homegrown food

More by this author

I remember the first time I went to Scotty’s Brewhouse. I was on a first date and I was enjoying good conversation, lots of flirting, a burger with fries, and a cold frosty mug of beer. There’s nothing better than a hunk of beef and cold drink to wash it down.

Good thing the memories of the meal lasted longer than the relationship! Though my college days are long gone, I’m pleased to find that Scotty’s Brewhouse is going strong here in Indianapolis. With two locations, located downtown and on 96th St., all can enjoy Scotty’s fare and create memories of your own.

Try one of Scotty’s lunch specials and order a signature item. Try the half barbecue ranch chicken salad, half buffalo chicken wrap or half turkey sandwich. Gather your co-workers and feast on a nice hot cup of soup.

Scotty’s chili is also some of the best I’ve ever had.

For happy hour or dinner, start the night out with a salad such as the black and bleu steak salad or an appetizer like the macho nachos. For the main course, there’s a wide variety to choose from. Try the non-traditional turkey reuben with turkey, coleslaw, swiss cheese, toasted sourdough, served warm for $10.75.

Other dinner choices include barbecue ribs, Latin chicken, fish tacos, mo’fo’ cluck, spicy sirloin steak sandwich, or a ridiculous amount of burgers, wraps and chicken sandwiches to select from.

For your sweet tooth, polish off your meal with brew homemade German chocolate cake or one of their other delectable desserts.

Scotty’s now offers a gluten-free menu with items such as nachos, pineapple salsa talapia, Thai peanut skewers and side items like steamed broccoli, a fruit cup or Yukon Gold garlic mashed potatoes.

Scotty’s also offers weekly drink specials. In fact, many of the drinks and food are reasonably priced.

Those proud to be a Hoosier and earth enthusiasts should note that ingredients in some of Scotty’s dishes are Indiana grown/raised.

Scotty’s Brewhouse has got good food, good blues, good brew and good people. Give them a try.
