The Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Ivy Endowment Incorporated are currently seeking students to participate in their educational programs focused on personal development, mentoring, civic engagement, academic achievement and scholarship. The objectives for each program are achieved through structured workshops, educational enrichment activities and community service outings. Applications for the below programs will be available starting Feb. 19 at akaamo.org.
Debutante Cotillion & Scholarship Program — designed for young ladies in the 11th and 12th grades. The culminating event is the Debutante Cotillion Scholarship Ball, where each young lady is presented to the Indianapolis community and awarded scholarships. Interested students must have a C+ grade average. Participation fees apply.
Rosebud Program — designed for young ladies in the ninth and 10th grades. Interested young ladies should have a C+ grade average. Rosebuds also serve a role in the Debutante Cotillion Scholarship Ball. Participation fees apply.
ASCEND Program — Designed for both male and female high school students, the ASCEND program emphasizes Achievement, Self Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking and Development. This program positions students to transition to college and the workplace and has a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers. Interested students should have a C average. There are no participation fees for the ASCEND program.
Rose Petals Program — designed for young ladies in the sixth through eighth grades. Interested students should have a C+ grade average. Participation fees apply.
