Indiana Sports Corp will host the fourth annual Nine and Wine Golf Event for Women at the Woodland Country Club of Carmel, Ind. In partnership with Youthlinks Indiana Charity Golf Tournament, proceeds from Nine and Wine support the Susan Williams CHAMPS Grant Program. CHAMPS Grants support organizations that provide underserved youth with the opportunity to participate in sports and fitness activities and teach life skills.
In 2012, more than 125 women participated in the Nine and Wine ā a golf tournament created by women for women. This yearās tournament will take place June 17.
Woodland Country Club was the first private country club in Hamilton County and designed by legendary golf course architect Pete Dye.
Drive-thru registration and lunch are available beginning at noon with the shotgun start scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Each team for the event is comprised of four players and will play in a 9-hole scramble-style tournament. The outing will conclude with a post-golf reception.
Kristine Danz of Ice Miller serves as Youthlinks vice-chair. First Internet Bank Senior Vice President Connie Shepherd will serve as chair of the womenās event.
Since 1988, more than $6.4 million have been raised to support underserved youth and the sports they play through the proceeds of Youthlinks and Nine and Wine Golf Tournaments. In the fourth year of the event, the funds raised by Nine and Wine will support a grant specifically directed towards supporting life skills and sports programming for young girls.
