Today the Department of Parks and Recreation announced that the Perry Park Ice Rink is now open for the season. The professional size rink, is now open and remains open until March 21. The Perry Park ice rink hosts several leagues for hockey, figure skating clubs, broomball and public skating opportunities.
“Perry Park Ice Rink is one of many Indy Parks’ hidden gems on the south side that several don’t even know exist ,” said John Williams, Director of Department of Parks and Recreation. “We continue to look for ways to engage our residents and being the only city owned ice rink we are excited to get people there this season.”
Perry ice rink offers skate sharpening, a supply store, skate rental, skate aids for children and can be a great location for a private party. Packages can vary, but for $11 per person you receive admission to the rink, skate rental and a choice of a food item (nacho, hot dog or pretzel), chips and a small soft drink or slushie. This season the park has added a public session on Fridays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Public Sessions Hours:
Weekdays Tuesday-Friday 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Weekends and Holidays Friday 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Perry Park Ice Rink is located at 451 E. Stop 11. When residents use their FunCard they can receive 15 percent off of admission and when you bring a group of 15 or more skate rental is free.
