The Raising Queens Summit, an one-day empowerment event for women, teens and girls, will be held August 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, 2820 N. Meridian St.
The event, whose theme is āUnstoppable You!ā will feature women in the media such as Ericka Flye anchor at RTV6; Donna Schiele, radio personality at WTLC-AM (1310); Timeko Whitaker, the Authenticity Identity Coach; and Shannon Williams, president of the Recorder Media Group.
The event will also include workshops for all ages; powerful panel discussions; a teen town hall meeting; and a vendor showcase.
The eventās keynote speaker is Cynthia Newman, founder and CEO of Raising Queens. The organizationās mission is to empower women and girls to find their purpose and lead productive lives by giving them the tools to live successfully. They also seek to impart ācrown jewelsā in women such as self esteem, leadership, etiquette, financial management, wellness, spiritual development and education. Adult admission for the Raising Queens Summit is $35; for youth, $25.
