Can you work a high-energy Drum Line? Maybe you like to talk on a microphone as an emcee. Or you prefer to be a DJ and spin music or better yet, you want to perform high-flying dunks off a trampoline. Do you have the talent, energy, charisma and passion for the Indiana Pacers to be a Boom Baby? If you fall into any of these categories, the Pacers, or specifically in this case, the Pacers’ Game Day entertainment staff, want you!
Auditions for numerous game-day positions will be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Monday, Sept. 8, at various times depending on the position. “We have many opportunities for candidates to enjoy themselves and at the same time be a vital part of our game-day experience,” said Pacers Vice President of Game Operations Dean Heaviland. “This is a unique chance for that special Pacers fan to let loose and flourish in a totally different role.”
Interested candidates must pre-register at Pacers.com to be considered. Registration will close on Friday, Sept. 5, at 5:00 p.m. Anyone with any questions can contact entertainmentgroups@pacers.com.
Among the positions available is the DJ, spinning music for the fans. Candidates must be over 18 and should bring their own equipment and a four-minute sample of what they can do. The audition time for this position will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Another open spot is On Court Emcee where you are on the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Public Address system, engaging with fans and guests throughout the game. Candidates for this spot should be of age 18 and up and the audition time for On Court Emcee will start at 3:00 p.m.
The Pacers will also be looking for Boom Babys, females who are 18 and older who serve as team ambassadors on game day and at charity events. Boom Baby candidates should be former cheerleaders, tumblers, dancers, gymnasts or have some performance experience. Proper attire for the audition is a t-shirt, shorts and athletic shoes. Audition time will be begin at 5:00 p.m.
The Pacers High Octane Drumline is looking for candidates 16 and over who happen to be drummers or former drummers. Drums will be provided for the audition but please bring your own sticks. The Power Pack is looking for candidates over 18 who are high energy dunkers than can spring off a trampoline and perform alongside Pacers mascot Boomer. Candidates must wear shorts, t-shirt and athletic shoes and the audition will be begin at 7:00 p.m.
