I’m a typical American food-eating girl, but I will try pretty much any foreign food. If a foreign restaurant can get me to come back a second time, they’ve got me sold.
When I went to Clay Oven Indian Restaurant on the Southside and tasted the food, I was sold immediately.
Clay Oven serves some of the most fresh and authentic Indian food I’ve ever tasted. The fact that I love spicy food is also a plus.
All the selections in their menu are well-seasoned with spices imported directly from India. It doesn’t get much better than that.
All meals are prepared fresh in the kitchen by trained chefs.
My favorite dish is the chicken tikka masala, served with boneless white meat, peppers and zesty sauce. This dish had the perfect amount of spiciness to it that allowed me to taste it, but not too spicy so I could still enjoy it.
All the distinct flavors blend so well together and you can tell you’re not eating typical American food.
As I glanced through the menu, my decision was difficult because everything sounded so delicious.
Clay Oven has lamb delicacies, seafood entrees, chicken entrees and even vegetarian specialties.
If you’re in the mood for a lighter meal you can try one of their salads, soups or appetizers.
As I sat and ate, I couldn’t help but enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant.
The atmosphere at Clay Oven is so relaxing and homey. The lights stay low and the walls are covered with warm comforting colors that make you literally want to sit there all day.
Clay Oven would be a nice place to take a date or just to wind down after a long day at work.
The prices are very reasonable compared to the portions they serve. All entrees are no more than $15.
One thing that really stood out to me was Clay Oven’s excellent customer service.
Every single employee was genuinely friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. If you come once, you’re automatically a friend to them.
Step away from the traditional hamburgers and give Clay Oven’s flavorful Indian food a try. You will not regret it.
