Trump needs to fire himself

Donald Trump is a joke.

I’ve never been a big fan of Trump and I am even less impressed with him now. While he is a noteworthy businessman, the real estate mogul and Republican presidential candidate’s approach to other things is less admirable.

Trump is known for his off-the-wall and disrespectful comments. Years ago, Trump publically insulted President Barack Obama by continually claiming Obama was not a citizen of the United States. Trump even demanded Obama show proof of his citizenship.

More recently, Trump has degraded Hispanics and multiple politicians.

Trump is one of 16 Republicans who are running for president. I understand a crowd of 16 can get fairly congested so Trump is, in his own way, trying to stand out. However, the problem with Trump’s tactics is it is incredibly off-putting. Not only to the Republican Party, but members of the general community as well.

Trump’s verbal tirades are also embarrassing for Americans.

I read a blog from an Australian woman who said Americans should be ashamed. She said, “Never have I imagined someone running for president of the United States would be so disrespectful toward people he hopes to lead.”

Her comments were spot on.

Among the other disparaging things Trump said about Hispanics is, “those people are bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”

But the insults didn’t end there. Trump also disrespected Republican Sen. John McCain when he said the former prisoner of war was not a hero.

“He’s not a war hero. He is a hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured,” said Trump.

How dare Trump be so insensitive toward someone who has served this country?

Who would want a person like Trump serving as commander-in-chief? Presidential trips to other countries would be disastrous, as Americans would hold their breath in fear of “President Trump’s,” remarks. It would be worse than embarrassing.

I think Trump is full of hot air. Don’t get me wrong, he says some very inappropriate things,” however, I think all the senseless chatter is to increase his brand rather than run for president of the United States. It’s all a game to him.

The crazy thing about playing games is sometimes our intent to do one thing can go the opposite way unintentionally. What I am trying to say is, Trump can know in his heart of hearts that he does not want to be president, however, because he is playing this game, things can change for him and he may actually win the Republican nomination. Sounds bizarre, I’m sure, but I’ve seen it happen on smaller political scales so it is very possible.

A recent poll noted Trump was leading his Republican presidential counterparts in polls. According to a Washington Post – ABC News poll, Trump is dominating with 24 percent of the vote consisting of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents. While some of the 24 percent of responders may agree with Trump and his audacious demeanor, I’m willing to bet the others have such a strong dislike for various demographics, they choose to support whatever individual they feel will best execute their personal agendas. America cannot entertain the foolish ways of Trump. Hopefully the madness associated with him will end soon and the serious presidential contenders will preserve.
