The ladies of the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will present their annual Youth Symposium – “Partners for Progress, Working Together to Build Bridges for Youth” March 8 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at George Washington Park, 3130 E. 30th St.
The event will focus on the importance of partnerships in the community coming together to support our youth. Male and female youth are invited, but some topics will specifically focus on young girls, ages 13 – 17, which include our teen affiliate group the Rhoer Club.
The symposium will feature interactive activity for youth, including our Get Fit Clinic, as well as a guest panel who hold careers in various occupations, including education and health care.
Chapters nationwide will host the symposiums on March 8 as a unified effort to support youth.
“We are proud to sponsor this annual youth initiative. The goal this year will be to bring together a “village of support” for young people. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority knows that the youth are our future; we must prepare them so that they can lead the way,” said Bonita Herring, 23rd International President of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.
