Richard Sherman was selected as the Seattle Seahawks’ 2015 “Man of the Year.” The cornerback was recognized for his skills on the field and dedication to the youth, education and community.

The Seahawks released an announcement Wednesday that highlighted Sherman’s mentorship of high school students, his donations to families in need and Blanket Coverage, his family foundation dedicated to helping students in low-income communities, among other efforts.

Sherman is among 32 NFL players selected from their respective teams, who are now all eligible for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, presented by Nationwide.

The Walter Payton Award recognizes players for their “significant positive impact” on their communities, the award site states.

Sherman and the other nominees will all receive $5,000 to donate to their charity of choice.

The winner, selected by a panel of judges, will be announced at the Annual NFL Honors Award Show on Feb. 6, the night before the Super Bowl, on CBS from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. They will receive an additional $50,000 donation for a charity of their choice.

Congratulations, Richard!
