This summer, the IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum will begin to screen first-run films from Hollywood in addition to traditional IMAX documentary-style films.
Recent improvements including a new IMAX screen and a state-of-the-art digital projector will allow downtown IMAX to expand its cinematic offerings. Summer moviegoers can now see blockbuster hits like LEGEND OF TARZAN playing now, STAR TREK BEYOND beginning July 22 and SUICIDE SQUAD beginning August 5, in stunning IMAX digital 3D and projected on a six-story tall screen.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer all of this expanded slate of film programming for Indianapolis theatergoers,” says theater manager Craig Mince. “Our renovations, the addition of digital IMAX projection, and acquisition of these big-name films further solidifies the Downtown IMAX Theater as the premiere cinematic experience in the state of Indiana.”
In addition to offering expanded cinematic options, the downtown IMAX validates parking in the Indiana State Museum parking garage for moviegoers. The theater will also maintain the ability to show IMAX masterpieces on traditional IMAX 15/70 film.
