The Baptist Ministers Alliance of Indianapolis and Vicinity is deeply concerned about the petulant, poisonous and racist remarks addressed to President Obama by Donald Trump.
We find Trump’s remarks to be inconsistent with the heritage of excellence that is represented by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the historic Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.
The Baptist Ministers Alliance of Indianapolis and Vicinity calls for the IMS to immediately rescind its invitation to Donald Trump as the one who will drive the pace car for the greatest spectacle in racing. We call on the mayor of Indianapolis, the governor of the State of Indiana and all who abhor racism to stand with us in this effort. To have Donald Trump set the pace at the world’s most prestigious and famous race will transform it from the greatest spectacle in racing to the greatest disgrace in racing.
The Baptist Ministers Alliance of Indianapolis and Vicinity believes that the leadership and management of the IMS are people of integrity and good will and we are hopeful that you will do the right thing by making a pace car driver choice that matches your character and integrity.
Together we stand.
