Sylvester Stallone has chosen rapper 50 Cent to replace the Academy Award-winning Forest Whitaker in “The Expendables,” an action film about a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator.
Recent delays have pushed back the film’s shoot by a month, which caused Whitaker to have a schedule conflict with prior engagements.
Stallone directs and stars in the film alongside Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Dolph Lungdren, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter, Steve Austin and actor-turned-Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Filming kicks off March 28 in Brazil, then moves to New Orleans on April 13. Gov. Schwarzenegger’s cameo will be shot in Los Angeles.
