Rally spotlights domestic abuse in Central Indiana

The Domestic Violence Network will sponsor an Enough Is Enough Rally to heighten awareness about domestic abuse in Central Indiana.

The rally will be June 30 outside the Indianapolis City Market, 222 E. Market St, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During the rally, attendees will be able to visit exhibits from organizations dedicated to preventing and responding to domestic and teen dating violence. Attendees will be provided with information about healthy relationships, family violence and volunteer opportunities from exhibitors.

The Domestic Violence Network is asking the community to come together to address the issue of domestic abuse in Central Indiana.

There will be opportunities for the public to share their voice about the importance of addressing domestic abuse. Persons interested in speaking at the rally, should contact Brandy Wright at (317) 872-1086 or at bwright@dvnconnect.org.

The Domestic Violence Network is also partnering with the Indiana Fever to promote and raise awareness about healthy relationships within Central Indiana. With this partnership, the network will be featured as a Community Spotlight sponsor at the July 9 game against the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. The event will be held at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The mission of the Domestic Violence Network is to end domestic violence by engaging the community through advocacy, education and collaboration. Founded in 1997, DVN builds networks to ensure that prevention efforts are in place, effective services are present to assist people who are abused and who abuse, best practice and evidenced-based education and trainings are offered to the community and awareness initiatives and campaigns that promote help and healthy relationships.
