Don’t let the name fool you; shrimp isn’t the only thing this small, yet organized food chain serves. There is something on the menu for everyone. Whether you love fish, shrimp or barbecue, the choices are endless.
The family-friendly restaurant gives you a southern feel. As soon as you walk you into the diner, you are instantly greeted with a “how you doing today?” and a conversation will immediately strike.
For the lunch lovers, the menu specials will leave you dazed. The perch combo ($5.00) was definitely worth a try. This meal comes with two pieces of fish, three large shrimp and fries. Also, free lemonade comes with the entrée. And trust me, when I say large shrimp, that’s exactly what it was, not the small stuff you’re used to.
For barbeque lovers, you might want to try Dell’s Bar-B-Que, which is another restaurant inside Shrimp Hut. For a family pack ($12.50) you get to choose your own sauce and drink to feed the household. Also, don’t wait to go to the Indiana State Fair to get a turkey leg, when you get one at Dell’s for only $4.75.
I am also a big fan of Shrimp Hut’s pork on the bun ($3.75) because of its juicy and tender taste that will have you asking for more.
If you’re not into the small meals, and want to try something bigger, then dig into the value pack specials for only $6.45. You can choose between pork chops, perch, whiting, wings and more. This entrée come with fries, cole slaw, a hush puppy and a 12 oz. drink.
What better way to finish a meal with a delicious dessert? The choices include chess pie, sweet potato pie, cheesecake, peach cobbler plus more. All of the slices are $1.75 and rounds are $2.75.
Even if you’re not a fan of all the menu items, at least try their famous lemonade. The delicious drink mixes a blend of sweet and tangy flavors that will leave you refreshed during the hot summer months.
Before you think about going anywhere else, take a trip to Shrimp Hut. If you have a little extra time to spare, sit down and enjoy your meal with a little conversation from team members; you’ll regret it if you don’t.
