My friends and I wanted to have a girls’ night out, so we decided to go to Kilroy’s Bar N’ Grill. We went to the downtown location, which is a 21 and older establishment, however, the Broad Ripple location is open to all ages.
Unlike many establishments, at Kilroy’s patrons seat themselves at either a table or at the full bar. When we arrived, it was beginning to get busy, but our waitress got to us fairly quickly and brought everything to us right away.
We began our night of fun with a pitcher of long island iced tea. We chose the peach flavor, but they also have green apple, raspberry, and strawberry. It was reasonably priced due to the fact that they have drink specials every night. If you aren’t in the mood for an alcoholic beverage, they offer Coke products.
For dinner we all had Kilroy’s famous stuffed breadsticks, which are filled with cheese and pepperoni on the inside and are served with cheese and marinara sauce.
Even though Kilroy’s is known for its breadsticks, they have other appetizers such as the barbecue nachos and the fried pickle chips. They also have standard bar food like wings, quesadillas and sliders.
Although we just had an appetizer, they have a full menu of food which includes items like the smoked turkey cobb salad made with smoked turkey on a bed of crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, bacon, black olives, tomatoes, eggs, avocado, and bleu cheese; the cilantro lime fish tacos made with blackened talapia, creamy cilantro ranch, tomatoes, cabbage topped with cilantro and served with lime wedges; and the classic BLT sandwich.
Kilroy’s also offers 11 types of burgers; serves specialty pizzas and has entrees such as baby back ribs.
What I liked most about Kilroy’s was that it had a laid-back atmosphere where you can go for a drink after a game or to celebrate a birthday. As far as dress code – there is none. I saw some of everything from T-shirts and jeans to dresses and high heels.
Kilroy’s also has TVs everywhere, which makes it the perfect place to watch a football or basketball game.
Kilroy’s is open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. and you are guaranteed to have a good time no matter the occasion.
