Special to the Recorder
Recruiting is now underway for participation in a local job training and placement initiative called PriorITize, which will train and place 300 eligible participants in one of three of the fastest growing career positions in the Indianapolis area.
The U.S. Department of Labor awarded a $2.9 million grant to EmployIndy (formerly the Indianapolis Private Industry Council) in June to help fund the initiative.
āThe PriorITize initiative will provide hundreds of local residents with training that will help them gain employment,ā said Mayor Greg Ballard. āIndiana is a leading state in the health information technology industry, and PriorITize aims to strengthen the labor pool for that sector. By focusing particularly on the IT industry, including emerging health information technology fields, Indianapolis demonstrates leadership in supporting the advancement of these high-growth industries, which have the long-term potential to support even more new jobs.ā
