DiBella’s Old Fashioned Submarines has been on my visit list for some time now. I had a plain, turkey sub at work during a staff lunch, and vowed to visit the place on my own later. I’m pumped to report back to you that the subs are more amazing the second time.
Only this time I spiced up my sandwich a bit. I ordered the DiBella’s Cheesesteak ($6.99), chips ($1.29) and a fountain drink ($1.79).
You’ll probably want to order a small because I ordered a medium, and I thought it was a large. The subs are literally big submarines! There was plenty of food left over for the following day. The bread was fluffy and flavorable. The Swiss cheese was perfectly meshed into my grilled steak, peppers, onions and pickles. It was filled with sweet savor. I could barely stop eating. They also have some bomb macadamia cookies.
I was impressed with the subs. I’m just going to put this out there… DiBella’s is arguably one of the best sub places in Indy. I just had to say it. Don’t believe me? Try it, and report back to me.
I love how the sandwich starts with fresh bread that is baked continuously throughout the day in the store’s in-house bakery. Which means you will be biting into a pretty fresh roll. Who doesn’t like fresh rolls? Plus, DiBella’s also custom prepares every sub using the highest quality of meats, cheeses and condiments, complemented by a choice of delicious toppings.
The eatery also takes the time to implement the old-fashioned corner bakery atmosphere. That old diner feel of the establishment is right on key. The tunes and photos all were representing that “back in the day feel.” The customer service is also friendly. I was greeted as I entered the establishment and when I left. My order was also taken speedily and presented to me in a timely matter. Just how I like it.
These submarines are worth taking a dive in.
