Labor Day Street Fair

Live music, food and libations are available at The Jazz Kitchen’s Labor Day Street Fair. This year’s lineup features Clifford Ratliff & Friends, Pavel and Direct Contact, and Rob Dixon and Friends. The celebration begins at 2:30 p.m. at 5377 N. College Ave. Admission is free.

 

Al Jackson at Morty’s

Al Jackson has had an incredible year. Recently he appeared in his own “Comedy Central Presents” half-hour special, earned a showcase spot on Showtime’s “Louie Anderson Presents” and was featured as a coach on this year’s Emmy-winning season of MTV’s “MADE.” He is also the current host of FOX’s nationally syndicated travel show, “Awesome Adventures.” On Sept. 8 and Sept. 9, catch his comedy stylings at Morty’s Comedy Joint and Mexican Grill. Musiq Soulchild and Raheem DeVaughn

Kick off your weekend with some of R&B’s most talented stars. Musiq Soulchild and Raheem DeVaughn will be performing at The Vogue Theatre on Friday, Sept. 8, at 9 p.m. Tickets starts at $49 and can be found at ticketfly.com. 

 

$5 admission to the Children’s Museum

Adventure awaits at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Grab you little ones and explore five floors of fun for only $5 on every first Thursday from 4–8 p.m. Tickets can be bought on-site or online at childrensmuseum.org/first-thursday.

 

Ed Sheeran at Bankers Life Fieldhouse

Grammy Award-winning superstar Ed Sheeran will perform at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Friday, Sept. 8. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and tickets can be found on ticketmaster.com.

 

Good Food Feast at the Kheprw Institute

On every second Saturday from 3–5 p.m., join the Kheprw Institute for food, a cooking demonstration and nutrition class. The Community Controlled Food Initiative is a cooperative that brings fresh, affordable food to the community. Pay $25, or $12 for EBT/SNAP participants, and KI will use the collective buying power to get wholesale prices from local farmers. Visit food.kheprw.org for more information.
