One of three planned markets for the year, Bottleworks Indy will host local artisans from across the state to share their handmade goods, artisan crafts and vintage wares on May 18.
Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the market will be made up of tents and displays located on both sides of Carrollton Avenue and will stretch along the main strip of the Bottleworks District. The event is free to the public.

Ryan Hickey, director of entertainment and programming for Geronimo Hospitality Group, the company behind the Bottleworks Hotel, among other Indianapolis destinations, said the district was eager to host the market.
āWe have about 40 total vendors ⦠We will have everything from fashion accessories to art, to body care products, candles, home dĆ©cor, jewelry, to vintage clothing,ā said
Whether it be the family-friendly Pins Mechanical Co. duckpin bowling or mom getting her hair done at the Dry Bar, there is a wide variety of potential evening plans families can make after the Bottleworks market comes to a close.
āThere is something for everyone. You have The Garage Food Hall and all these other tenants that people can try for the first time or potentially revisit,ā said Hickey. āFor anybody who has been to the Bottleworks District, you know that you can kind of be there all day, and potentially all weekend and stay there and not have to leave if you donāt want to.ā

Inspired by the idea of creating a āthird spaceā for people to relax outside of work and home, Hickey said the market provides a sense of community he hopes to maintain.
āWeāre constantly trying to bring people to the district; thatās the number one inspiration,ā Hickey said. “We always envisioned the Bottleworks District being a gathering place, where people can work, play and stay. This is another example of something that brings a lot of people down to shop, eat, drink and have a good time.ā
The Bottleworks market is both kid- and pet-friendly, although pets must be leashed.
āFirst of all, anyone is welcome,ā Hickey said. “We try to be very welcoming to the community and we think that the Bottleworks District has a lot to offer.ā
