The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is opening its doors to the public for free admission across multiple locations Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

With activities ranging from swimming and fitness classes to pickleball, the community is free to participate in any of the offerings presented by the YMCA. While the specific classes and equipment may differ at each location, visitors can expect a guided tour to show them the layout of the fitness centers.

Centered around the organization’s three pillars – youth development, healthy living and social responsibility – the YMCA’s Community Day initiative aims to help individuals and families build healthy body, spirits and minds and provide support to the local community to learn and thrive.

“We’re inviting the community into our centers to experience in real time our vision to create a healthier, more equitable, more connected community,” said Michael Farris, COO of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.

If any visitor decides to join the YMCA on Community Day, the join fee is waived; any members who encourage someone new to join will receive a $25 credit on their account. To access the YMCA on Community Day, visitors need to check in at the front desk and show a photo ID to staff before entering the fitness areas.

Community Day is occurring at all 12 greater Indianapolis locations. For more information and to see the full list of participating locations, visit https://indymca.org/events/communityday/ .
