Fort Harrison State Park will have a free screening of Aldo Leopold’s “Green Fire” followed by a bench making workshop (cost $35, space is limited) on Sept. 11, 2011. The 72 minute film will begin at 2 p.m. and will be followed by the bench making workshop.
“Green Fire” is the first feature length high definition documentary film ever made about famed conservationist Aldo Leopold. The documentary highlights Leopold’s extraordinary career, tracing how he shaped and influenced the modern environmental movement.
After the screening, registered participants will get a chance to construct their own Leopold bench to take home. All supplies are provided, but participants are asked to bring a screwdriver and a 3/8″ wrench to assist in bench construction. Power strips will be available.
