Fun fair facts

• Famous fairgrounds visitors include Muhammad Ali, the Jackson 5, the Beatles, Elvis Presley and President John F. Kennedy.

• The Indiana State Fair is the 6th oldest state fair in the country. The first year for the fair was 1852.

• The largest one-day crowd in fair history was Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, when 117,912 people passed through the gates.

Fair admission

Gate admission is $8 for adults and free for children 5 and under.
