Walk in the Light Christian Church announced the start of an anti-violence campaign called “Preparing for the Peace.”
Set to kick off on March 24, “Preparing for the Peace” will feature a pictorial tribute and several commemorative concerts to be held in memory of youth victims of violent crime in Indianapolis during 2013 and 2014. The effort is being mounted by the church in collaboration with a number of other concerned community partners and is expected to have the support of many committed city leaders.
A hallmark of the effort will be the commemoration of the deaths of youth on our streets by the mounting of a massive photo display of victims that will hang in the front windows of Walk in the Light Christian Church located at 5860 N. Michigan Road. The campaign will be on display all year.
Volunteers, including students, community activists, parents, families of victims and others are being asked for help with this campaign.
