Pacers Ready For Summer League

More by this author

The Indiana Pacers did not finish off the season the way they would have liked, now the off season is not going as planned so much either. The Pacers’ roster is very much in the air now as far who is all coming back especially the Pacers top priority Lance Stephenson. With the Pacers also not having any draft picks the focused is turned towards free agency for Summer League play.

“I think his ceiling is what he wants it to be,” said Bird, The Pacers’ president of basketball operations. “I always want him back. You just don’t let talent like that walk away if you can help it.”

With that comes mini camp that has been going on this week at Bankers Life Fieldhouse with rookies and free agents preparing for the Summer League July 5-11 in Orlando. The Pacers official summer league roster was announced early Monday morning with a 17-player roster including three current NBA players and seven players that played in the National Basketball Association Developmental League.

The most interesting names on the list are two veterans Roger Mason jr. and Rasual Butler who are both in their mid 30’s both have some NBA experience.

Rasual Butler, “Who played a little during the regular season but remained ready and became a contributor in the playoffs,” said Pacers’ coach Frank Vogel. He, too, brought years of experience as a reserve and thus understood the role.
