If you are on the lookout for a dining experience that is enchanting enough to satisfy the most selective diners, give Sullivan’s Steakhouse a try. The attentive, friendly staff and delicious entrees give guests the perfect excuse to break their healthy eating resolutions just once.
When I arrived at Sullivan’s, the first thing I noticed was the upscale atmosphere. The decor included dark wood, dim lighting and a classic wooden wine rack stocked with a large selection. Live music helped to further improve the ambiance.
The place was bustling with guests, many of whom were dressed to the nines. Despite the restaurant being busy, our waiter was quick and attentive. Before we ordered, he shared details with us about a few of his personal favorite dishes and drinks. He urged us to try the Cheesesteak Eggrolls, a starter that incorporates sweet and spicy chili sauce and honey mustard. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the distinctive flavor.
For my entree, I ordered the Steakhouse Salad, which comes with a cut of meat big enough to be an entree at some restaurants. Not all steaks are created equal, and this one was definitely a cut above the rest. It was tender and tasty, and the accompanying deviled egg, mixed greens, bacon, Parmesan and avocado were equally satisfying. At the end of my meal I was much too full for dessert, so I decided instead to try one of their many drinks.
Sullivan’s Steakhouse has a wide variety of drinks, including margaritas, martinis and a host of other cocktails. In addition, they have an extensive wine list with drinks by the bottle or by the glass. I had a glass of white wine that was sweet and refreshing.
Sullivan’s Steakhouse has recently introduced new items on its “Steak Indulgences” menu that diners can add to their premium cuts of meat. You can have your steak with seared Hudson Valley foie gras; Oscar style with lump crab, asparagus and bearnaise; or, my personal favorite, topped with triple-thick cut bacon and melted blue cheese. I’m convinced that even the most discerning of palates would be hard pressed to turn up their nose to that.
If you are in the mood for live music, hand-cut steaks and fine wine, then a trip to Sullivan’s is sure make for a memorable experience.
