Jazz lovers, tea lovers and anyone who loves Vickie Daniel won’t want to miss an opportunity to hear her perform and drop jewels of knowledge during two upcoming events.
The Music and Wisdom of Vickie Daniel will be 1-3 p.m. Nov. 10 and Dec. 15 at Tea’s Me Café, 140 E. 22nd St. Suite B.
All are welcome to attend the event, however, Daniel perfectly timed the event to appeal to older adults who still want to get out and about but don’t want to venture outdoors after dark.
“They can relax and talk and share,” Daniel said. “We just want to get together, have fun and be safe and celebrate each other’s life instead of going to each other’s funerals.”
Although he won’t perform with Daniel on Nov. 10, pianist Carl Hines has appeared with Daniel at previous events and will perform with her on Dec. 15.
“You can just drop in and have some cake and tea, (a) lot of conversation (and) good music,” Hines said.
Daniel said the events are informal — she’ll sing a little, talk a little and sell her CD.
“We’re celebrating life and having fun and talking,” Daniel said. “It’s just an opportunity for us to bond.”
