Schoolhouse Rock
From Oct. 11 to 16, the Indianapolis Children’s Theatre will present “Schoolhouse Rock Live!,” a collection of live performances that recreate the popular animated children television series. Performances will take place daily at 10 a.m. and noon at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre on the campus of Marian University, 3200 Cold Spring Rd. Wayne Brady coming to town
Actor, dancer, comedian and Emmy award-winning singer Wayne Brady will perform alongside the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Oct. 15-17 at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, 45 Monument Circle.
Brady, who is well known for his appearances “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, will take center stage to pay tribute to entertainers Sammy Davis Jr. and Sam Cooke by performing many of their signature works.

Film screening
More than 100 American and international films will be screened throughout Indianapolis from Oct. 14 to 23 as part of the 2010 Heartland Film Festival.
Producers from Brazil to Uzbekistan have submitted entries ranging from student documentary to dramatic feature to animated short.

Angela Brown
in Bloomington
On Oct. 16 at 8 p.m., Angela Brown will perform “Opera from a Sistah’s Point of View” at the Musical Arts Center, 101 N. Jordan Ave., in Bloomington. It will be a homecoming for Brown, who attended IU’s Jacobs School of Music before gaining international acclaim as an opera singer.

Colts to host 5k run
The Indianapolis Colts and the NFL are inviting fans to join in the Fit for You 5k walk/run on Oct. 30 at 8:30 a.m. The race will start at the Celebration Plaza of White River State Park, 1200 W. Washington St., and end back at the plaza.
Registration is $5 and proceeds go to the NFL’s Play 60 initiative aimed at inspiring kids to get 60 minutes of physical activity per day. Participants will have the opportunity to win a VIP experience at a Colts home game or tickets to Super Bowl XLV. Visit nfl.com/women to learn more.
British actors to perform at Butler
Actors From the London Stage will return to Butler University for an encore Oct. 27-29 to present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall.

Children’s Museum Guild presents annual Haunted House
The 47th Annual Haunted House at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis opens Oct. 16 and continues through Oct. 31.
Costume-clad youngsters can hop on an imaginary IndyGo bus ride and navigate through Skeletown modeled after the city of Indianapolis.
Those who scare easily can enjoy Skeletown during fun and friendly “lights on hours” in the afternoons. Those who dare to be scared can go in the evenings.
Tickets are on sale and can be purchased at Marsh Supermarkets for $5.50 or $6.50 at the door; visitors can also save $2 on Haunted House and museum combo tickets. Tickets also will be available at AAA locations.
