IU Health names a chief diversity and inclusion officer

Indiana University Health has appointed Orson Mason as chief diversity and inclusion officer.

Mason has been with IU Health for more than 18 years and is currently vice president of human resources. He has deep experience in employee relations, employee assistance programs, policy development, and organization and staff development.

In his new position, Orson will develop and lead a strategic plan for diversity and inclusion throughout the IU Health system, partnering with key system and community leaders as well as a new statewide Diversity Inclusion Task Force, continuing and increasing IU Healthā€™s tradition of and commitment to diversity.

ā€œI look forward to working with Orson to best serve our diverse workforce and ensure a culture of mutual trust and respect,ā€ said Elizabeth Dunlap, executive vice president and chief human relations officer.

An Army veteran, Mason earned a bachelorā€™s degree in social work from Tuskegee University and is a passionate civic volunteer. Ā  Ā Ā
