Rep. André Carson (D-IN) will hold his annual Indianapolis Job and Resource Fair with Ivy Tech Community College on Tuesday, Aug. 8. The event will connect hardworking Hoosiers with quality employers in Central Indiana.
“The U.S. has experienced record job growth over the last two years, and I’m making sure Indianapolis residents take advantage of that growth,” said Carson. “With over 90 vendors, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a first-time job or a better job. Everyone deserves meaningful, good-paying employment – and I’ll keep fighting for the middle class by creating jobs, lowering costs, and bring inflation down.”
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in job opportunities across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, infrastructure and clean energy. This has led to the creation of over 13.4 million new jobs since 2021, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. As a result, the U.S. is experiencing its lowest unemployment rates in decades.
“On behalf of Ivy Tech Indianapolis, I want to recognize and thank Congressman André Carson for his vision and partnership on the annual Indianapolis Job and Resource Fair,” said Dr. Stacy Atkinson, interim chancellor. “He is a consummate leader, champion, and partner in our shared goal to provide greater access to a clear pathway to educational success leading to high-demand, high-wage careers. It is our honor to co-host this invaluable event each year.”
The job fair will be held from 11 am to 2 pm at the Ivy Tech Culinary Conference Center at 2820 N. Meridian St. The fair is free to attend and open to the public; no RSVP is required.
