Oh, the possibilities at Latitude 39

Indianapolis, get ready for entertainment like you’ve never seen before. On Dec. 19, Latitude 39 will open its doors to all residents who will find endless entertainment.

Latitude 39 is the brainchild of Latitude Global Inc. which has set out to revolutionize the entertainment industry. In 2007, the Jacksonville, Fla., based company began researching concepts that would energize entertainment. They decided to make bowling the anchor of their venues.

“When you think about it, bowling is a recreational activity that anyone can do year round. Instead of your typical bowling alley, we brought boutique bowling to residents,” said Philip Alia, chief marketing officer for Latitude Global Inc.

But they didn’t stop there. They continued their research and discovered if they could give people an amazing dining and entertainment experience and if both were quality, people would come back for more.

Latitude Global saw potential in Indianapolis and decided to build its third venue on East 82nd Street in the Clearwater Crossing area with a multifarious entertainment experience all under one roof. Instead of building from the ground up, the company takes an earth-friendly approach and refurbishes used buildings.

Once home to an old AMC movie theater, the building was gutted and rebuilt to house the entertainment venue.

“Currently a night out or weekend get together can involve driving from one place to another or trying to convince everyone to settle on the same choice,” said Brent Brown, CEO of Latitude Global in a previous interview. “Latitude 39 will provide the convenience of multiple leisure options in one destination.”

When you enter into Latitude 39’s 75,000 square feet building, you can easily see all of the entertainment happening. At the heart of the venue is the Axis Bar with a stage for live entertainment. Behind the dance and bar area is the boutique bowling alley.

While waiting your turn, have a seat on a leather couch and order from a full food and beverage menu. Keep up with your bowling score on state-of-the-art screens and while you’re having fun with friends, see what’s happening on the 200-foot digital video wall.

If you don’t want to bowl with others on one of the 20 bowling lanes, there is a private VIP bowling suite that is available.

“It is a luxury bowling experience. This is what really sets us apart,” said Alia.

On the westside of the center is the Cinegrille, a dine-in movie theater that showcases select films; a ticketless, state of the art, interactive Game Room with over 70 games; and a private meeting room.

On the westside of Latitude 39 is the HD Sports theater; a small wine room; a second restaurant called the 360 Grill that serves American food with a contemporary flare and also has a pizza bar; and the Latitude Live stage that will feature regular comedy shows, plays and other live shows. Plans are in the works to build an outdoor patio behind the building which overlooks the White River.

On the mezzanine level of this $15 million venue, there will be private and VIP spaces for exclusive entertaining.

The entire building is controlled by the Broadcast Studio, an in house audio/visual studio. Alia said that in addition to Latitude 39’s technical prowess, anything that’s taking place in the venue can be re-broadcast to any TV station, radio station, website or phone app via HD robotic cameras.

Although Latitude 39 is chock full of state-of-the-art and luxury items, Alia said the cost to visit is affordable. A regular night of food/snacks and entertainment is ala carte style and ranges from $3 to $20. Visitors should note that Friday and Saturday nights are adult only and includes a cover charge.

Latitude 39 is said to be an incredible place to have fun, but company brass wants residents to think outside of the box and consider using the space for things such as church worship services; family events; company team-building retreats, mixology classes, stage plays, birthday parties and more.

Latitude 39 is the company’s third and largest location with others in Jacksonville, Fla.; Pittsburgh, and one opening in early 2013 in Chicago.
