Indy Rama 2015

More by this author

Have you ever driven past a home you thought looked astonishing, both in architecture and design? If you’re a big fan of HGTV and other home-related TV shows, you may want to get a sneak peek into these homes just to see what life is like for the owners, discover how many bedrooms they have or learn the history that lies under their foundation. Now through Oct. 25 from noon until 8 p.m., Indy Rama 2015, a home tour event, will give residents a chance to view the interior of homes in some of the city’s most historic downtown neighborhoods like Fall Creek Place, Holy Cross, Chatham Arch and Mass Ave., among others.

This urban-style home show, hosted by Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, will showcase five homes and will include two newly constructed homes, two townhomes and one rehab home.

Following are brief introductions to each home included in the tour.

Stop 1 — 1159 Marlowe Ave.

This home, designed and constructed by The Re-Development Group, displays a flexible floor plan allowing for efficient use of space, features high standards of energy efficiency and three living levels connected to a closet system, which could be converted into an elevator.

Other features: two-car garage, courtyard, hot tub, deck, three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Stop 2 — 2439 Broadway St.

ZMC Urban Homes has constructed more than 100 new homes in Fall Creek Place and now adds 2439 Broadway St. to its list. This home provides practical uses of space and features for day-to-day family living. The home features a 14-foot family center displaying a contemporary 5-foot fireplace, while the upstairs offers a 6-foot-by-5-foot shower and 5-foot garden bathtub.

Other features: three bedrooms, a loft, two-story entry, finished basement and full guest suite.

Stop 3 — 1815 N. Alabama St.

As one of the most historic renovations worked on by Trade Design Studio, the company transformed this home to fit a modern lifestyle without damaging its original character. With three levels of living space, what began as a tiny cottage features simple oak flooring, a home office and four bedrooms.

Other features: patio, open kitchen concept, mudroom and a rotating bookshelf.

Stop 4 — Park 10 (1036 Broadway St.)

As one of the two townhomes highlighted on the tour, located at Park10 in the historic Chatham Arch Neighborhood, this first space was built with comfort in mind while including modern pieces. It also features high-end touches such as designer wallpaper, walnut finishes and unique uses of color, texture and lighting.

Other features: 3,500 square feet, hardwood floors, tiled bathrooms and quartz countertops.

Stop 5 — Park 10 (1036 Broadway St.)

Townhome two at Park10 showcases three bedrooms, several large closets, a large dining and living area and multiple porches in a 3,500-square-foot area.

Other features: wood shelves in closets, 9-foot ceilings, large patios, outdoor green space and covered parking.
