Affordable, unique and creative are three words to describe The Old Spaghetti Factory.
For 40 years this establishment has provided Italian dishes that can soothe anyone’s appetite at a reasonable price.
Located downtown at the corner of Meridian and West Georgia Street, this business glows with old fashioned charm. In the center of the restaurant lies a replica of an old train car with seating on the inside.
The menu consists of appetizers, entrée salads, pasta, sandwiches, and dessert. To start off your meal I suggest getting an appetizer. Try their shrimp, spinach and artichoke dip sautéed with brandy, cream, fresh herbs, and Romano cheese. Other appetizers include Sicilian garlic cheese bread and olive tapenade.
For your entrée you can choose from signature selections like chicken, or pasta classics such as Sicilian meatballs and Italian sausage with meat sauce. Don’t forget about factory favorites and platters that include fettuccine alfredo or ravioli.
I insist you try the number one factory platter called The Premier. You’ll be pleased to find a big portion of their special lasagna made from scratch with layers of noodles, marinara sauce, ground beef, pork and three kinds of cheese and the chicken marsala, which is a seasoned chicken breast with fresh mushrooms and marsala wine sauce.
Those with hearty appetites need not worry because the restaurant is not stingy with its portions. All entrees come with fresh hot bread, soup or salad, coffee, hot/iced tea or milk, and their signature spumoni ice cream. There is no better deal than that. It’s the perfect place for a date or casual dining out.
This is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to.
