There are tons of food trucks in the Indianapolis area that serve all sides of town. Want to try a food truck but don’t know how to locate them or where to start?
Following are a list of four Black-owned food trucks in Indianapolis and the type of food they serve, their price range, how you can locate them and their social media pages.
R&R Extreme Wings
R&R Extreme Wings, a food truck that has been running for three years, offers chicken wings starting at $7. Sauces range from sweet and spicy, honey barbeque, hot habanero and buffalo just to name a few. R&R Extreme Wings also offers fries, drinks and mozzarella sticks, which are $3. R&R Extreme Wings operates for lunch and dinner, and goes where the people want them.

Soul Sista on the Move
Soul Sista on the Move is a food truck that offers chicken wings, pork chops, philly cheese steak, macaroni and cheese and many other soul food dishes. It cost about $8-$10 for a meal and Soul Sista on the Move serves drinks as well. Soul Sista on the Move can usually be found at the First Friday Food Truck Festival, the Indiana Statehouse, city markets and other major events.

Taste of the Caribbean Indy
Taste of the Caribbean Indy, a food truck that has been operating for almost three years, serves jerk chicken, coconut shrimp, conch fritters, oxtails, sweet plantains and almost any Caribbean dish you can imagine. For a little over $10.50, you can purchase a platter, which always comes with a side of red beans and rice and sweet plantains. For $5-8, try some of the entrees with a side of cocoa bread. Taste of the Caribbean Indy operates Wednesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Pi Pizza
Pi Pizza specializes in brick-oven, personal pizzas. Pi Pizza offers smoky pizzas including their Indiana Corn Pi, Meat Lovers Pi, Margarita Pi and more. An eight-inch pizza ranges anywhere from $7-12. However, pizzas aren’t the only food served. Pi Pizza offers breadsticks and burgers from time to time, too. Pi Pizza usually operates Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 – 9 p.m.
