Beef and Boards announce youth auditions for holiday shows

Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre is hosting auditions to cast young performers in its upcoming holiday productions.

Auditions, which are for various roles in ā€œA Beef & Boards Christmasā€ and ā€œA Christmas Carol,ā€ are scheduled for Aug. 2 at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. Auditions are open to all children able to move and sing well and ā€œare physically and ethnically diverseā€ by appointment only, according to a press release.

Beef & Boards is looking to cast young performers in the following roles:

ā€œA Beef & Boards Christmasā€ 

Nov. 28-Dec. 31, 2025

  • Featured boy singer/dancer, aged 6-18
  • Featured girl singer/dancer aged 6-18

Both roles require performers to have great stage presence and tap dance experience. 

ā€œA Christmas Carolā€

Dec. 5-22, 2025

  • Tim Cratchit (age 5-8)
  • Boy Scrooge/Peter Cratchit/Turkey boy (age 9-14)
  • Fran/Belinda Cratchit (age 10-14)
  • Martha Cratchit (age 16-19)

Those interested in auditioning should prepare at least one vocal selection, not more than 32 bars, that showcases their voice along with sheet music in the correct key as a piano accompanist will be provided, according to a press release. CDs or pre-recorded music will not be accepted. 

Auditioning performers are instructed to dress comfortably (no costumes or makeup) and have a one-minute monologue, story or joke prepared in addition to a current photo, informal bio or resume with recent performing experience, if any. 

Those cast in the shows will receive a small performance stipend and limited number of complimentary tickets. To be considered for a role, performers must be available for all scheduled rehearsals and performances, according to a press release.
