Know someone who needs a job? Angie’s List knows more than 25 highly rated service companies in Central Indiana, most with multiple positions to fill, and is hosting an event designed to connect the job seekers to the job suppliers.

The national online marketplace and consumer review organization’s first annual service industry job fair is Friday, August 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Angie’s List corporate headquarters at 1030 E. Washington Street.

“The service industry is a great career path for tons of people but lately it’s been overlooked,” said Angie’s List founder Angie Hicks. “Our goal is to help renew interest in these positions that can start small and lead to big things.”

The job fair grew from a Career Fair Angie’s List held at Washington Irving elementary school earlier this year. As Hicks and the school principal, Karen Hastings watched service industry professionals interact with 5th and 6th graders, Hastings remarked that the kids’ parents would have also benefited from the interactions.

“I started planning right there,” Hicks said. “Few companies are as well positioned to help the service industry as Angie’s List, and we’re hopeful that this Indianapolis event will be the first of many across the country.”

The fair is open to anyone hoping to land a successful career in any of the available positions. Representatives from the companies offering jobs will be on hand at the Angie’s List corporate headquarters to accept resumes, interview applicants and discuss opportunities.

Job applicants will be greeted in the first floor of the Moto Cafe on the Angie’s List campus and directed to the appropriate company representatives who will be stationed in the company’s conference center. Free parking will be available on the Angie’s List campus, as well the Mid America Elevator Company lot. Entry to that lot is at Dickson and East Ohio streets, about one block northeast of the main campus.

Applicants can download a basic job application on the Angie’s List website or complete one at the job fair. Applicants are encouraged to bring resumes. Available positions to be at the fair run the gamut of entry level and skilled labor, including:
