New Beginnings Fellowship Church is hosting a Community Day of Outreach, which will also serve as its back to school celebration. The event will take place at the church, 2125 N. German Church Rd on Aug. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Along with a book back giveaway, there will also be free food, bounce houses, a mobile game truck, pony rides and I-Dent-A-Kid badges.

Grace Memorial Missionary Baptist Church’s 10th annual Youth Explosion and 2nd annual health fair will take place Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The community event will take place at the church, 3019 N. Lasalle St.
The guest speaker will be Acey Byrd, president of 100 Black Men of Indianapolis, Inc. There will also be a school supply giveaway, free food, face painting and balloon sculpturing for the youth. Everyone can receive free health screenings including sickle cell, diabetes and blood pressure. In addition to the screenings, there will also be free workshops: Diabetes – Coping, preventing and what to do in case of an emergency (10-11 a.m.), Heart Disease – Healthy heart, prevention of heart disease (11:15-12 p.m.) and Breast Cancer – Breast cancer awareness (12:15-1 p.m.)
