“Straight Outta Compton” is regarded as one of hip-hop’s most important records and centerpieces of the culture.

Since its release in the summer of 1988, the album has sparked the careers of award-winning artists, actors, icons, and the movie of the same name released during the 25 year anniversary in 2015 was met with acclaim.

To further showcase the film, The American Civil Liberties Union, in partnership with the Indianapolis Museum of Art, will present a special film screening and discussion of “Straight Out of Compton” on Thursday, July 7 with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., a discussion at 6 p.m. and the film beginning at 7:15 p.m.

Admission to this event will be free and open to the public at the IMA.
