Literature and solutions
The Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library will host a panel discussion of the book The Burden: African Americans and the Enduring Impact of Slavery, on Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. Panelists will include award-winning Detroit newspaper columnist Rochelle Riley, the bookās editor; AāLelia Bundles, author of the book, All About Madame C.J. Walker; and Tamara Winfrey-Harris, social commentator and author of the award-winning book, The Sisters Are Alright: Changing the Broken Narrative of Black Women in America. This event is free, but seating is limited to the first 300 people. Underground parking is available for $1 per hour at 840 N. Pennsylvania Street. Parking is also available at meters around the library, located at 40 E. St Clair St.
