Dear God, Are these wars and rumors of wars? Please forgive me if I am wrong for asking. At every turn, there is suffering and lacking, and in these times of difficulty, I wonder if Revelations is the interpretation of your timing. This problem of evil, coupled with the nature of suffering and the tension between free will and divine providence, are not new matters and have been questioned throughout history by the minds of thinkers and theologians to garner answers to questions beyond human comprehension. So maybe I am asking why there is so much tension and angst toward [a] people with your face.
Does Black always have to be resilient?
Must there always be hardship? Endurance? Perseverance? Help me to go beyond my thinking; I want to know if we were likened to your image. Maybe that would explain how you, too, were treated or how you shone triumphant when they thought you were defeated.
In these moments of suffering, there is doubt and despair. I, like the countless philosophical and theological minds, do not question your existence or position, but your plan for us often weighs heavily on my heart. I find myself asking, “How long?” “Why us?” or “Why do bad things happen to good people?” These questions have echoed through the ages; they are questions that test the depths of faith and understanding. The world’s injustices seem to challenge the very idea of your goodness and omnipotence.
But perhaps it is precisely in these moments of darkness that we have the opportunity to know you truly. In our struggles and sorrows, we find the strength to rise and overcome. Your mysterious ways, which may sometimes seem inscrutable, are the ultimate test of our faith and the catalyst for our growth.
We seek your wisdom to navigate life’s challenges and complexities, find meaning in our existence, and uncover the purpose of our journey on this Earth. Your omnipresence provides comfort, allowing us to carry on even when the world’s weight feels too heavy to bear.
Dear God, water our grass green for I long to turn Martin Luther King Jr boulevard into a place of peace. Let this serve as a plea for justice, equality, and the realization of a better world.
Dear God, you are the light that guides us through the darkness, the rock on which we build our faith, and the source of love that connects us to one another. Your presence is both a source of comfort and a call to action. We are called to be your hands and feet in this world, to bring compassion, justice, and love to those in need.
The universe you created is vast and timeless, and our existence within it is a mere blink of an eye. Yet, in this infinitesimal fragment of time, we have the opportunity to seek you, to understand you, and to be in awe of your majesty.
Dear God, I may never fully comprehend your divine plan, and the mysteries of life may continue to confound me. But in this uncertainty, I find a deeper connection with you. I find solace in the beauty of creation, inspiration in the resilience of the human spirit, and the courage to embrace the unknown.
I express my gratitude for the gift of life, the capacity to question, and the chance to explore your existence’s profound and eternal mystery. Though I may not have all the answers, I trust that your love and wisdom guide us on this remarkable journey.
