Learn more about Girl Scouts at Sept. 26 event

More by this author

Girls and their families are invited to Noodles and Company in Castleton, located at 5265 East 96th St, on Sept. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. to learn more about Girl Scouts. Each new girl who fills out a Girl Scout interest card and turns it in will receive a free drink and dessert with a purchased meal. Current or alumnae Girl Scouts who are wearing Girl Scout apparel will receive a free drink with the purchase of a meal.

Girl Scout representatives will provide adults and girls the opportunity to learn more about Girl Scouting and how girls and adults can become involved with the organization. The Girl Scout Research Institute has found that two-thirds of girls want to be leaders, but only one girl in five believes she has the skills to lead. “Girl Scouts helps every girl discover the leader she can be, and connect with others to have an effect on her world.” says Temara Payton, membership development manager. “We know how girls learn to lead. Girl Scouts has pioneered the first national system of outcomes measurement for girls’ leadership development. This helps our adult volunteers, our funders, and the girls themselves see how they are succeeding.”
