I’m trying to find some positives to point out for girls basketball, but it’s difficult when teams are a combined 4-24, with all four wins coming from one school (Shortridge). That said, it looks like Arsenal Tech has a very winnable game Dec. 14 against Richmond (1-8). For the boys, we can highlight George Washington for winning the Central Christian Tournament.

Boys Basketball
Crispus Attucks (4-1)
• Dec. 7 — Crispus Attucks 65, Cardinal Ritter 63
Attucks didn’t a play a close game through its first three contests, so this was an early-season test. Attucks lost the fourth quarter, 21-13, to make it that close. Tigers junior Sincere McMahon led all scorers with 21 points.
• Dec. 8 — Crispus Attucks 67, West Lafayette 51
This Week:
• Dec. 15 — vs. North Central, 7:30 p.m.
Arsenal Tech (0-4)
• Dec. 7 — Anderson 66, Arsenal Tech 61 (OT)
Looking at the box score, no team won a quarter by more than one point. Anderson scored 14 overtime points to Tech’s nine. Not sure how you feel about “good losses” or “moral victories,” but Anderson looks like a legit team. The Indians beat Pendleton Heights and just lost to Noblesville by seven.
This Week:
• Dec. 14 — vs. Richmond, 8 p.m.
• Dec. 15 — at Cathedral, 7:30 p.m.
George Washington (4-2)

Congratulations to the Continentals for winning the Central Christian Tournament last week. In their blowout win over Lighthouse East, seniors Duran Lewis, Cody Waldon and Alandus Conner combined for 49 points.
