The Loft: Fresh. Simple. Organic.

After seeing the juicy steak featured on the cover of a local magazine, my mom had to find out where it came from. That particular steak came from The Loft, a farm to table restaurant located at Traders Point Creamery in Zionsville.

While driving up the road to the eatery, I wondered if a restaurant could fit on the street since it appeared to be in a residential area. As we pulled up, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the location was.

The Loftā€™s grounds feature a view of feeding pastures on its sides and into the back that are perfect for an after-dinner stroll.

Patrons have the option of indoor or outdoor seating for dinner. Thereā€™s also pony rides and live music to enjoy. The restaurant is located inside a dairy barn that has a rustic, yet elegant appeal, reminiscent of California.

The crowd varied from intimate dinner dates to family and friends laughing and having drinks. The lighting was dim and every table welcomed a candle and fresh flowers.

The menu is made from all-organic produce and the animals are bred and cared for on the grounds. You can taste the difference in the food!

For dinner I ate chicken with a salad on the side and my mom had steak with potatoes and asparagus. They also offered shrimp, lamb and burgers on the menu. The food was delicious and the portions were a nice size for the price.

My mother said that this was the first time she had eaten a whole steak but didnā€™t feel stuffed. We even had room for dessert.

The waitress was very friendly, attentive, had an excellent knowledge of the food and drink menu and was able to make great recommendations. Drinks varied from red and white wines, beer, Izze sparkling pop and root beer.

The dessert menu was equally as delicious. I had a fresh serving of fruit and my mom and I shared a toffee sundae. Just like their food, the ice cream is made in-house.

Make sure you drink slowly because the restrooms are unisex and limited to two so prepare to stand in line.

Because the grounds are grassy and has a gravel pathway, Iā€™d suggest wearing comfortable shoes. This is the perfect place to have dinner with your parents or catching up with some friends.
