Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James had a few encouraging words Saturday for young players at teammate Mo Williams’ basketball camp.
James, who averaged 35 points and nine rebounds a game during the Cavs run to the NBA semifinals this past season, posed for photos with VIPs and sponsors in a private room, then came out to mid-court at the Jackson State arena.
He told a crowd of about 300 campers and 200 others that he doesn’t think Williams will be the city’s only NBA star.
After speaking for less than a minute, he posed for photos with campers and had a solo shoot-around in which he hit a few 3-pointers and a two-handed slam dunk.
He and his 15-member entourage left in two black Cadillac Escalades.
Saturday was the basketball camp’s final day.
