The Trump Administration has named Steve Brown as the new State Executive Director for the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Indiana. Brown joined the team on May 5, 2025.

The Farm Service Agency plays a vital role in supporting America’s farmers, ranchers and forest landowners by administering programs for agricultural policy, credit and loans and disaster recovery through its national network of state and county offices.
Brown previously served as Indiana’s FSA State Executive Director during Trump’s first term. He spent 32 years with the USDA working in Porter and Carroll counties and the Indiana State FSA Office. He was recognized in 2023 with an induction into the Carroll County Agricultural Hall of Fame.
As State Executive Director, Brown will oversee the implementation of FSA programs supporting Indiana’s agricultural producers. These programs span commodity, conservation, credit and disaster assistance.
“Our newly appointed state leaders bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their position as SED, and they will play an integral role in shaping the future of agriculture in their state,” said Bill Beam, FSA administrator.
