(StatePoint) -Making a few tweaks to your car insurance policy is an opportunity to help find some extra room in your budget.
The experts at car insurance group Progressive offer these tips for chatting with your agent:
• Make sure you have the right amount of insurance required by the state. Also, ask if you need physical damage coverage.
• Check your roadside assistance coverage. If you have an AAA membership, then you likely don’t need to pay for roadside assistance on your car insurance policy. The same goes for rental car coverage; if you have access to an alternate form of transportation while your car is being repaired following a claim, you might not need to pay for that coverage.
• Update your policy. As your life changes – marriage, children, new cars – check in with your agent. To learn more, talk to a local agent.
