Indianapolis families will have access to free health services, lead testing and family-friendly activities during two upcoming community events in August.

From 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will host a No-Cost Vaccination & Lead Testing Clinic in partnership with the Marion County Public Health Department and the NAACP. The event, held during the museum’s First Thursday Night, offers $6 general admission and free parking.

Families can receive routine and back-to-school vaccinations, as well as free lead testing for children. In addition to the clinic, attendees will have access to live exhibits, the food court and museum activities. Advance registration for vaccines is encouraged at patients.vaxcare.com/registration using the code IN65942 and clinic name Children’s Museum.

The second event, Community Family Fun & Health Service Day – Part 2, takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at the Washington Park Family Center, 3130 E. 30th St.

This free health fair will offer lead testing for children and expectant mothers, information on lead pipe removal efforts in Martindale Brightwood and access to both physical and mental health resources. A baby shower sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield will be part of the event, alongside entertainment, food and giveaways.

Incentives will be available for attendees: the first 125 people will receive a $50 gift card, and children who complete lead testing will receive a $20 gift card. Registration is required by August 8 at render.jotform.com/250616278122049. Vendors are welcome and must also register by the same date. Tables and chairs will be provided.
